Tyba Online is a collection of digital images supplied by a network of photographers living in the principal cities of Brazil. Have a look at the map to see the states where our collaborating photographers are located in Brazil.

Our goal is to systematically build and constantly update a visual memory of socio-economic, environmental (flora and fauna), and cultural aspects of Brazil.

We've participated in the production chain of editorial, news,educational, and cultural sectors, in line with the educational policies defined by the Ministry of Education and Culture (MEC) and the National Textbook Program (PNLD).

Founded in 1991 by photojournalists Claus Meyer, Ricardo Azoury and Rogério Reis (current editor), and administered by the teacher and journalist Mayra Rodrigues, TYBA is recognized for its credibility in documenting production and indexing its content.

The name TYBA is a suffixfrom the Tupilanguage which means"large amount". When added to the end of a word, it denotes the collective sense. For example: Kuri= pine, soKurityba = pine forest.

Brazil Olympic Award - COB - Brazilian Olympic Committee (2009) for our contribution as provider of images used inthe successful application submitted by the city of Rio de Janeiro for the 2016 Olympic Games.

La Gacilly Photo Festival, France. Best collection of pictures on Brazil (Brittany/France - 2012). Exhibition curated by Florence and Cyril Drouhet, also photo editor of Figaro Magazine.

(Rio + 20) Humanities Exhibition (2012).Main image supplier, with 315 photos, for the cultural center event at the UN Conference on Sustainable Development.The 7000 sm. exhibition space located on Copacabana Beach was designed by set designer BiaLessa.
